Bruce Lee:The beginning of a legend

Bruce Lee was born in San Francisco in November 27th, 1940 in the year of the Dragon and the hour of the Dragon. His birth name is Lee Jun Fan and the Madarin version is Lei Siu Lung. He only speaks english and cantonese. His dad, Lee Hoi-Chuen (left) was chinese and his mom, named Grace Ho, was chinese and a quarter German. When Bruce Lee was just 3 months, his parents brought him back to Hong Kong. Bruce Lee is a Hong Kong citizen and an American citizen. At the time, Lee Hoi-Chuen was a lead in cantonese operas and also of film actors. Also at the time , there was the second World War and all mananged to survive the war. As the war came to an end, Lee Hoi-Chuen resumed his acting career and became quite a big star. Bruce Lee went to St.Francis Xavier's Collage for High School. In Spring 1959, Lee aged 18, Lee got involved in a street fight and then the police were involved. April 1959, Lee's parents decided to return him to the United States to meet his older sister Agnes who were already living in San Francisco, where Bruce Lee was born. In 1959, Bruce Lee aged 18 and a half, was returning to the United States with only $100 in his pockets. Bruce Lee also, at the time had the titles of the 1957 High School Boxing Champion and came in second forthe 1958 Crown Colony Cha Cha in Hong Kong. After living in San Francisco for a few months, Bruce Lee moved to Seattle in 1959. In 1960, Lee completed his High School years and recieved his diploma from Edison Technical School. He soon attended the University Of Washington in the March of 1961 and getting a major in drama. He also prabobly took courses in philosophy and psycology. Soon after he would meet his future wife, Linda Emery and getting married in August of 1964. Bruce Lee eventually resigned his University education, having done 3 years of school but never graduated. In Spring of 1964, Bruce Lee moved to Oakland to live with James Yimm Lee which has no relation to Bruce what so ever. James also assisted Bruce in co-founding the second Jun Fan martial arts studio in Oakland, with the first being in Seattle. James Lee also introduced Bruce Lee to Ed Parker, organizer of the Karate Championships and soon be introduced to Hollywood.
